BP America is one of the commercial balloons operated by Ballooning Adventures of Texas.
Phil has been flying aircraft since 1963 and has over 4500 hours of pilot in command time. In addition to his Hot Air Balloon rating, Phil holds a Commercial Pilot Certificate with single and multi-engine and instrument airplane ratings. Phil is an Aviation Safety Counselor and a Designated Pilot Examiner for balloons. He participates in Hot Air Balloon Rallies nationwide entering competitions and charitable events.
Phil was elected to the Balloon Federation, Board of Directors , Southwest Region in 2001, elected as the BFA President in 2003 and will be serving actively to promote safety and competition. Phil is also active in the Lone Star Hot Air Balloon Association. He has served as past President and Board Member, annually sponsors the Lone Star Hot Air Balloon Association Safety Seminar and is the Organizer and Balloonmeister of the Katy Balloon Festival.
